Blossom of Snow May You Bloom and Grow... || Outfit

Edelweiss...edelweiss... Oh how I wish it was!
But I make do with what I have- lovely sunflowers everywhere☺
Even though Israel is in bloom for a very short time - we have maybe a month long spring-  and then there is a really, really REALLY long summer, if you search good enough, you"ll find places like this, that are full of growth and beautiful nature.

This skirt is definitely my go to skirt - I bought it and another one to wear to work, I needed something that is easy to match with, fits my style, and in the same time warm. Oh, and inexpensive.
This skirt really lived up to my expectations. The quality is not amazing but it is warm enough, and I like the shape and color- a cool toned brown that can match lots of my winter clothes.

Pretending to be a sunflower myself ☺☺☺ I love using this hair flower in times I need to add some color to my outfit. I made it myself using a flower from plastic bouquet and a hair clip. It is very simple, and I can show you how it is done if you readers are interested.

Girls Nowadays Only Wear One Petticoat - Sci Fi&Fantasy Convention || Lifestyle

I wanted to post this almost a week ago, but I participated in a photography contest, and they didn't allow putting the photos anywhere online until it is over.
Now it is...

Today's post is going to be about Sci-Fi &Fantasy convention - Olamot Con. I tend to go to those once in a while, two or three times a year. They have many interesting lectures, they sell books- new and used, stands where artist sell related stuff and have a lot of people in beautiful costumes. Sometimes I prepare a costume especially, sometimes I put on a cute dress I already own.
This time, as you can see, I wore my bonnet that I have recently made (you can see the process in this post), and a dress I made last year with my sewing teacher. The convention staff also conducted a photography contest, and you can see my participation name tag in the photo above.

This look really made me think of Little Dorrit series cast-

Maybe only the length of the skirt is not appropriate for that era...

And here is why this post got it's title:
A girl dressed in a black gingham dress came to me as I walked around the stands and said- "your undergarments are showing". I laughed because I understood she meant my petticoat, but that made me think.
It immediately reminded me of a quote of "Anne of the Windy Poplars" -
"I've got three petticoats on, haven't I? They tell me the girls nowadays only wear one.
I'm afraid the world is gitting (intentional mistake) dreadful gay and giddy.
I wonder if they ever think of the judgment day."
Interesting how modesty rules have changed through the last decades!
Of course not everyone of the Edwardian era were as strict as Cousin Ernestine, because Rebbeca Dew promptly asked -  "Do you s'pose they'll ask us at the judgment day how many
petticoats we've got on?".
Well, I don't know much about modesty rules as I'm a non-religious Jewish lady, but I find it fascinating.
So when people asked me if my costume is of a particular character, I just said - "An immodest girl from the Victorian era". I guess it was of mixed eras- the bonnet is more Victorian and maybe even Regency, and as for the dress- I did think of Anne of Avonlea 1975 series when designing it!
Afterwards I had some vegan ice-cream (chocolate sorbet - my favorite!), and my boyfriend (who went with me) got a Skyrim hat ☺

Here are some of the people I came across while wandering there:

All You Need in Spring || Outfit

This time I simply wanted to go out and take some spring-outfit photos, and whoops! the rain thought otherwise,,,
I guess the colder days are back for a little while, but still, here are my spring essentials for this season:

Mint colored clothes- the ultimate color of spring! It goes with many other bright colors, and I have to add more of it to my wardrobe.

Cateye sunglasses- cute and stylish, improve every outfit and add 50s to the look,

Colorful scarves- Lately I wear these a lot. I think they go best with collared blouses or shirt dresses, and have an Audrey Hepburn vibe which I love!

High waisted capris- I am more of a skirt or dress wearer, but I just couldn't resist those. I loved their fit, and I think they could go with many styles. They are actually full length jeans which I folded into capris. I'd love to have some printed ones as well!

Peep toe & bright nails- I wanted to wear my new and favorite peep toes, but my legs hurt so badly this day because of other heels I wore for 10 hours the day before, so I decided to go for the more comfy this time. But- the point is clear, peep toes with bright nails are so lovely to wear in spring!

Bright lipstick- I am working on my lipstick collection right now, and this is a new favorite. Coral lips for spring are my choice for this year.

A pixie cut- I know I had mine long before spring, but I think it is great for hotter days.

Blouse: thrifted || jeans: Forever21 || wedges : Caligula || scarf: thrifted
lipstick: MAC Costa Chic || sunglasses: Collectif  (I got as a gift with a coat I bought!)

Those photos were taken at my boyfriend family's house back yard - I was invited to celebrate Passover with them. Then he was trying to improve the bow he had made (I think he is trying to be an archer now☺).
